I’ve never been a huge Metal or Hardcore fan, I can definitely get down with some hard rock and punk—next to my Wu-Tang and Outkast albums was Rage Against The Machine and NOFX—and although I struggled getting into harder stuff like Slayer, Pantera or Iron Maiden, their album covers ALWAYS got me and I used to buy their records just for the cover art! It’s intricate, it’s super detailed, it’s cinematic with a real creepy twist, it’s just so freakin good.
All those years of reading Heavy Metal Magazine and visually devouring album cover art left an itch that never really got scratched… until now! Thanks to these new text-to-image generative AI tools I have the time to explore this artform and be able to develop some kind of style of my own, and I’m absolutely LOVING IT!
